Installing WIndows without otpical CD/DVD drive

Hi all.

I would like to know howcan I install Windows 2003 on my new DL 360 G7 without any internal optical CD/DVD drive.

Is it possible with for example an USB Key or with an external USB disk ?

Hi,

 

Yes you can install an external optical drive via USB on the server and boot from it. You can also connect the optical drive from your laptop to the server to be deployed via the ILO and its Virtual Media... Connect via your browser to the ILO of the server and connect your local drive via the Virtual Media applet...
