How to install Windows 2003 on ML110 G4 with Raid1? The server has no disk floppy drive!

try this

Use a USB key and the HP Drive Key Boot Utility to create a USB key which you can use like a A: or floppy it will let you install the driver for the controller

this is for differents kinds of USBs not only HP

also you have to download the appropriate driver for the controller (Integrated 4 port SATA controller with embedded RAID)

ok this is if you need to install the driver for the controller, but if you want to do the RAID 1 you need to press Ctrl + A during POST
to load a utility which will help to create the RAID 1

I think, I shall buy the USB disk drive and I shall try it by.

well Few time ago i did a installation on 100 series and I used floppy drive which had the capability to connect using the usb

I've installed Windows 2003 on the ML110 G4 with Raid1, using a USB floppy drive, and it works fine.

I have a similar problem. I got to the 'F6' and installed from a USB floppy drive ok (Iomega), but when it gets to where it asks for the diskette/driver a second time then press enter, it doesn't see the drive anymore. I hit enter and it stares at me like a puppy dog. Thanks for any help; JimB

Jim, I believe the fix for your issue is to change the mode of the usb port in the bios to a lower speed.

Thanks for the response Ryan. I have Phoenix BIOS and the only options for USB are:
USB Controller: Enable/Disable
USB 2.0 Controller: Enable/Disable
I tried diable 2.0, but still to no avail. It simply loses touch with the FDD after the F6 installation.
