Installing Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 on a proliant DL180 G5

Hello everybody !

I need your assistance to install Windows server 2008 R2 x64 on my server.

What I've done :

- Format 4 HDDs with E200 the setup utility

- 4 HDDs in RAID 10 mode

- driver for E200 downloaded

- driver for SAS/SATA downloaded

My problem :

No drives are seen by the windows installator, even after loading the SAS/SATA driver. So I'm not able to install my system untill this problem is solved.

Is there any tutorial which describes step by step all actions I should do ?

Thanx for your help

and sorry for my hesitating english !

have you ruun the install from the smart start CD or direct from Windows disk?
I would run it from the smartstart

DL 1xx series don't support smart start CD :( so I had to run direct from Windows Disk.

I've tried to install Windows 2008 32bits => same problem.

I've called HP's support, they don't know how to solve the problem for the moment.

I'll take all good ideas ! :)

Thanx.

You need to load the internal SAS/SATA driver and the driver for the E200 during setup.

Another way is to use an external usb dvd drive and disable the onboard controller during setup if no hdds are connected to it. Then you only need to load the E200 driver and setup should run without any problems.
