Integrated NICS
I have just installed a Proliant DL380 and am having probelms with the integrated NICs and the Nortel 8000 series switch to which it is connected.
The server is a PDC and during periods of high activity (start of day) users are not getting logged on.
During testing with large packet pings I have noticed a lot of timeouts.
I suspect some compatibity issues with the Intel NIC and Nortel Switch.
There is only one NIC installed in the server
Any idea's woul;d be appreciated
Regards
John

Re: Integrated NICS
If your NIC is set to default (autosense) you could have some problems. I'd recommend manually configuring the NIC to 100/Full Duplex AND the port on the Nortel switch to match. I've seen quite a few instances where the duplex mode get's mismatched unless it is manually set. Good luck.
