Intermittent can`t detect SCSI hard drive on POST

Intermittent can`t detect SCSI hard drive on POST

the server will not detect the SCSI hard drive after switch on. after the hard drive cannot be detect, i`ll power off and on back..then it will successfully detect back the SCSI hard drive. is the Smart Array controller is faulty ? if i change the cotroller, does`t my RAID setting will be reset ?

If the Smart Array controller is not configured ie a new replacement or one that has had the drive configuration removed using acu then it will pick up the raid configuration information from the drives and not cause any problems. I have done this hundreds of times.
