Hmm... I ask again - for what? :)
1) Via connection dongle from front panel (USB modem)
2) Via virtual com port (iLO)

Thanks for the replies. The intent is to install a software to monitor events on storage arrays. The software uses the modem to automatically dial out when an error event occur on the array.

The 2 options above aren't really practical. First, the SUVI cable which has the serial and USB connection for the modem is not designed to be attached for anything other than short term (the weight of the connectors could damage the jack on the front of the blade). Besides, if you're going to have cables running around, you might as well use a regular server. Similarly, the virtual serial port would require a connection to be made from another system not a blade.

Your best option would be a LAN-Modem gateway. All of the blades could have access to it and in addition to your array notification software, the blades' Insight agents can use it for general hardware alerts.
