Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

Since HP webmasters aren't replying to my message I want to see if someone else have noticed that the HP Sizer for ESX on the HP website hasn't been working for over 2 weeks now?

- Go to
http://h71019.www7.hp.com/ActiveAnswers/cache/120132-0-0-0-121.html
- Click on the link
- Login with you HP Passport
- Click on the link
- Now it either gives me HTTP Internal Server Error 500 OR just stands there loading forever and nothing happends.

I've used it many times before. Tried different browsers, computers, internet connections.

Can someone else try to see if it works?

I tried it from internal and external HP. Is it still down for you?

Re: Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

Uhm, seems like a common issue with HP password protected content.

It works for me, but... Just try flushing all temporary files, history, cookies from your web browser. I remember having similar trouble the other day with some other HP content & that trick perfectly solved the issue!

Re: Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

Thanks for helping out since I need this tool to continue a project I've started.

I'm using IE now since I remember that it doesn't support Firefox.

So I cleared the
- Temporary Internet Files
- Cookies
- History
...still same problem.

I'm wondering if it could be something with my HP Passport user?

It still doesn't work and it hasn't worked for me during the last two weeks.

Re: Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

Just tried it from my co-workers computer - same problem.

If I check the last link I click it's on the old compaq domain:
http://www27.compaq.com/SB/VMware/page_init.asp

I'm wondering if there could be some issue with load balancing the HP/Compaq site and that I get directed to some other server which doesn't work and you guys get directed to one that DO work?

Any ideas what to do next?

Re: Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

OK, I just checked IE for my couriosity - & it does NOT work!

Before I used Netscape 8.1, Firefox engine - it was working & still is. When you pass through licence agreement switch to 'display like IE' beacusue in Firefox some input fields do not appear.

(If you are not familiar with N8.1 - you could choose which engine you want to use for every page: IE or FF)

Re: Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

Interesting indeed. I tried once again to clear all my private data in my Firefox 1.5.0.2 and visited the page.

First time i got:
The remote procedure call failed and did not execute.
...I reloaded and then I got:
The RPC server is unavailable.
...the third time I reloaded it just stands there loading forever.

Something is DEFINITLY wrong on that page. I hope some HP representative reads this and can report it to someone who is responsible for the HP Sizer... anyone?

Re: Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

I just got curious aswell and installed Netscape 8.1 on one of my machines. I've tried both Firefox and IE setting and allowed all sorts of scripting and such. I'm sorry to say it still doesn't work for me at all. Same problems as before.

Attached is a screendump of the Page Source. It doesn't say much.

I have no idea what's going on then.

Attached is a final screenshot of the configurator - I went trough all the steps using default values & sample server set & got no issues or errors.

Re: Is the HP Sizer for ESX down?

Guess what - I registered for a NEW HP Passport-account and with that account - it works! If I re-login using my old account - it doesn't work.

Strange huh?

I've done many different things:
- Tried many many times (I think more than 30 times during last three weeks)
- Tried different browsers, both IE and Firefox
- Tried emptying cache, cookies etc
- Changed securitysettings in the browser
- Tried different computers
- Tried different Internet connections
...it works for other people in my organization with their HP Passport user accounts.
