Hello guys,
I am pretty new with HP server hardware, and I have bough a ml310e to use as a small project, where I pretend to learn more about it.
With this ml310e I have two WD Black 1TB disks, where I am trying to set those with a Raid 1 through the B120i controller, but doesnt madder what I set in bios controller (RAID 0 or 1), when I try to install a OS like lubuntu or debian, it detect both disks like there was no RAID configured, and I am able to create partitions and files on both.
In motherboard BIOS I have set to use that controller as the SATA controller, but still I dont understand how it works. I was expecting that the controller would set it at hardware level, but seems that something is missing between the controller and OS's.
Also in iLO it doesnt detect that controller.
Here it goes some pics of this setup:
Anyone?

SolutionThe B120i driver (hpvsa) is a closed source driver and only avalable for specific versions of Red Hat and SUSE. in RBSU set teh controller to SATA AHCI mode and use mdadm to create RAID for the OS
