KVM and DL140 mouse problem

Hello,

I've connected a DL140 G3 server to a KVM (336044-B21 HP Server Console Switch, 1X8-Port KVM) using 2PS/2 and Video to CAT-5 RJ-45 Interface Adapter and the keyboard works but the mouse doesn't work. Then, if i connect directly the mouse attached to the KVM (PS/2 mouse) to the server it's works so fine.

Others servers (DL360) connected to the same KVM works well using the same interface adapter.

Do anyone knows how to solve this problem?

Thanks.

Re: KVM and DL140 mouse problem

do you have the latest update for the KVM

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/25399.html

or maybe updating the interface adapter
or have you tried another interface adapter?

take a look at the quickspecs and picture that I attached

Re: KVM and DL140 mouse problem

Hi Karlo,

At first, i tested another Interface Adapter that works with another server but isn't the solution.
Then i tried to update the firmware version of the KVM with the version that you propose but the problem persists. The first time that i test to upgrade firmware the process hangs. But at second time it works (using a notebook not connected to the KVM).

I'm using Windows 2003 R2 and in the hardware manager i see that, the VMI compatible mouse (others servers have PS2 compatible mouse) but i think that isn't a configuration problem because the mouse works connected directly to the computer.

I don't know what to do more!!!

Thanks.

Re: KVM and DL140 mouse problem

Hi,

It sounds like the same problem as others have reported with the Lights-Out 100 firmware on the DL140 G3.

Please see this previous forum link.

I hope this helps.
