LIVE PRODUCTION SERVER DOWN

Compaq tech is on site on routine fan replacement & clearing of NVRAM. Tech is unable to boot up system after many system board & memory errors. Tech swapped system board from Development machine, but still unsuccessful.

Re: LIVE PRODUCTION SERVER DOWN

The power supply connector (E5) has been discovered to come loose from the mini-back plane board during transit. This results in the hard drives
failing to spin up and the unit will fail POST. The failure can be
corrected by simply re connecting the power supply cable(I).

Before replacing any subassemblies due to POST errors:

1. Remove the processor tray subassembly to allow access to the
mini-back plane board.

2. Ensure that all power supply connections with the mini-back plane board
are secure.

3. Where necessary, reconnect any loose power supply cables.
