Linux MCE (Machine Check Exception) and DL145
DL145 g1, 16G of RAM, internal 80G harddrive, Smart Array 6404 w/ external MSA30.
Machine periodically receives Linux Machine Check Execption Kernel Panic. Periodically meaning 3 times in about a 48 hour period.
Spoke with HP Support One tech support, even after being handed off to 3 different people, no one had any idea about what was causing the MCEs.
Numerous Internet searches, most indicating that its hardware... Both processors in the machine have been replaced, all 16G of memory has been replaced 2 times. the motherboard was replaced - yup...that means the entire machine was replaced.
Any ideas suggestions, or rituals that may solve this issue?

Re: Linux MCE (Machine Check Exception) and DL145
Have you the latest SystemROM installed?
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23325.html
In the release notes at http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/revision/8449.html are some fixes for issues which are lead to to segmentation faults, kernel panic, or network transfer errors.
Regards,
Kai-Uwe

Re: Linux MCE (Machine Check Exception) and DL145
That was one of the first things that was attempted, so the machine is on the lastest dl145g1 firmware (7/21/05), thanks for the reply though.
