Load Windows Server 2003 on a Proliant ML 370 G2

Trying to load Windows Server 2003 on a Proliant ML370 G2. Rom Paq on your website listed on 2003 server page provides no choice for Server 2003, only 2000. Windows setup starts, and when it reboots, it restarts setup. Smart Start 7.4 CD says I have no boot sector. Configured array (smart array card 532) off CD, still no boot sector. Is there a more up to date bios somewhere?

Do you have version 2004.05.01 BIOS?

It is last BIOS version for ML370 G2.

Do you have this message during boot from SmartStart CD? Or when you try to start windows installation from SmartStart CD?
Can you try "remove configuration" option from SmartStart CD ?

No Boot sector message is from boot on Smart Start CD. Erased configuration, reconfigured array, still same message.

Thank you for clearing that up, however, the Server is listed on Microsoft's HCL as compatible with 2003 server and why does the HP/Compaq website have a page full of drivers for 2003 server if it's not supported?

Just thought about it

Check with the boot controller order and the standerd boot order in the RBSU

Ok, I'll try that tomorrow. Correct boot controller order should have smart array card first? Because I know it isn't but didn't think it mattered.

Thank you both. Changing the boot controller order solved the problem and 2003 server loaded right up!
