Log Processor Thermal Temperatures

I have a Proliant G4 running Windows Server 2003. It has recently begun shutting down int he middle of the night during backups. I would like a log of the CPU temperature readings throughout the night. I have tried coretemp, but it does not have a supported processor Xeon Core2 3.4Ghz.

The cooling is turned off in the building during the evening and I am certain this is what causes the problem, though it has not been an issue for 3 years.

I know how to see the current temperatures in the HP Utilities, but I would like to log the temperatures with a time stamp.

Sounds like you don't have the ProLiant Support Pack loaded. If you did, you would be able to get events sent to a management station (like HP SIM) and logged to the Windows Event Log when the overtemp conditions occured. The actual values are irrelevant.
