Logical drive 2 marked as failed.Proliant DL 380
HI,
Well i am facing this huge and unusual problem.I have HP Proliant DL 380.I have 2 logical drives 1 and 2.Ligical drive 1 is configured with 2 hard disk as RAID 1.
and logical drive 2 as RAId 5 with 3 hard disks.
Now i am getting this message that logical drive 2 failed , pls All the data is lost. Please recreate the logical drive and restore the backup from TAPE backup.
Now i checked in the ADU-ACU utility and it says the same message and gives #271.
Is there a way i can recover my data.
I checked in the RAId utility it is saying all the hard disks are OK.Status -- ├О ├О
How can i recover the data, Pls help.
THanks
HA

Re: Logical drive 2 marked as failed.Proliant DL 380
Hello Harry.
Is this a DL380 G2 or a DL380 with the optional 2 drive cage. Are there are red LEDs on the drives. When you run the ACU and go to the physical view do you see any drives missing? How did this problem start off?

Re: Logical drive 2 marked as failed.Proliant DL 380
HI Harry,
In raid we have 3 hdd which Hdd is failing. First intial step is to reconnect the failed hdd and server try to rebuild. Try to take the backup of the crutual data before any thing happens. Check for HP's HDD identified utility from hp site to confirm that hdd you have is'nt the faulty one.
Update if you come up with any other options.
Regards
Prashant S.
