Logical drive :'Waiting for rebuild'

I have a compaq proliant ML 570 server with compaq smart Array 5300 controller. On replacing one of the failed harddisk by equivalent disk I am getting the error as shown in ADU report.
The rebuilding of new harddisk aborts after 58% and then the logical drive status is shown as"waiting for rebuild"
Please help resolve the problem at the earliest possible.

Re: Logical drive :'Waiting for rebuild'

Can't open your ADU report.

But could be due to a bad source disk.

You can check the statistics of each disk using the System Management Homepage.
If you got hard read errors on the source disk(s), then the rebuild will fail.

Re: Logical drive :'Waiting for rebuild'

Thanks for the support.
I am resending the ADU report in text format.
The harddisk which was replaced had SCSI ID1.There are three harddisks in total having RAID 5 with Ids 0,1,2.
After running the System management homepage,
Harddisk with SCSI ID 0 was found to have Hard read errors 2987
Recov read errors 5
Recoverable write errors 1
The rest harddisks have no such errors.
Pl suggest how the RAID can be rebuilt under these conditions.

Re: Logical drive :'Waiting for rebuild'

To my best knowledge (I might be wrong)

That RAID will never rebuild :(

You have to replace disk 0 also.
Wich mean - backup all data and reinstl server with 2 new disks.

Doesn't disk 0 appear as degraded (Yellow bang) in SHM?
The physical disk.
Is it falsing read LED on the disk?

I would expect that you have several entries in the event logs.
IML and if Windows in the system event log.

Re: Logical drive :'Waiting for rebuild'

Thanks for the help.As per the suggestion given ,I found event logs for unrecoverable read errors on ID 0.
I have procured ID 0 apart from ID1.
Before rebuilding the RAID,I wish to confirm whether Non Compaq SCSI harddisks can work with RAID as I have both "Quantum" disks with same capacity.
Drive with ID 1 when installed was shown to be non stamped. Can this be ignored during RAID rebuild.

Re: Logical drive :'Waiting for rebuild'

I have no experience.

But there's some posts regarding non HP drives.
Try to read them.
