Looking for drivers Proliant DL585 G7 - Windows 10

Hey I picked up a bunch of old servers from IT pulls. I ended up with 4 DL585 G2 a g5 and 2 g7's. (and a tod of 1u servers - 40 of them)

None had HDD in them...

AS I am still learning and playing to expand my knowledge - this is purely for fun at home... I'll end up donating them to local high school tech classes more than likely.

I installed Win10 on a couple 72GB drives I had put into RAID and I installed 4x 146GB for learning... the 4 drives are in mixed array to show as one 300GB drive... kinda fun at this point just learning...

What I am looking for is the drivers for Win 10... seeing non in HPE support (all are 2008 or 2012 server and do not work with Win 10) I am searching for days looking for these network controller drivers.. .everything else (basic) seems to work fine...

Any ideas appreciated.

Looking for Base System Control drivers, Ethernet Controllers (x8 on this machine) and the Fiber controller drivers.

If I cannot get it for Win 10 I may just install debian or centos on it and use hypervisor like proxmox kde or something to crate VM for Win10... just playing and looking for ideas to get those network interfaces working... using my old rasPi 10/100 usb button dongle right now and its slow as molassas.

Hi @GoZippy

Thank you for the Post.

The Supported operating System starts from Windows 2008 and Drivers may not available directly for Windows 10 Operating System.

Yes, you may install any Operating System as Debion / Centos and then install the Windows as VM on top of it.

If you let us know the Operating System that will be installed and the Component details we shall share the necessary links.

Refer the link : https://techlibrary.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/supportmatrix/index.aspx for Operating System and Servers information.

Thank you

Ram

Re: Looking for drivers Proliant DL585 G7 - Windows 10

Thanks for the reply - your link takes me to this for windows then only opens quick specs pdf which I already had....

anyhow - it's a DL 585 Gen 7.

I cannot get the fiber or ethernet card drivers anywhere unless I install older OS... just figured there has got to be some mfgr updated drivers for these things and for base OS... would be happy to try to compile my own if there was a way to do so - and then release them to anyone that wants them for win10

PRODUCT# 590480-B21 is the DL585 G7

Currently has Smart Array rom version 8.40.41.00 for the HP Smart Array p410i in slot 0 shows as v6.64 on bootbut 8.40.41.00 in the setup...??

I have it setup with Logical Drive 1 as Raid 1+0 across 4x 146GB HDD ---> shows as one 232.56 GB drive :: and OS (Windows 10) installed on logical drive #2 Raid 1+0 across 2 x 72gb drives --> shows 73.37GB

System shows there is a valid backup system rom

SATA opion ROM ver 2.00.B15

QLogic gPXE 4.0.538

gPXE http://ethereboot.org ..... PCI 3.00 PnP PMM00A0@08 CE20 (whatever that means)

iLO 3 v1.09 from Jult 7 2017 10.140.0.18

That pretty much all I know about this machine... there are 4 cards installed. 2 have 2 ports the other 2 have 1 port... The 1 port qLogic cards show 2007 date on the card themselves but the lables for model are not legible. I have a SN on them... the first one is SN: LFD1133T16723 if that helped any to track down drivers that might be used... The two dual port cards are in Chinese. Date of Mrg is 2011-11 with the following numbers - PN?

586444-001 then under the chinese it says 581199-001 REV: 0C

The main card is the HP 4k11a5

Any suggestions?

Re: Looking for drivers Proliant DL585 G7 - Windows 10

Hi @GoZippy ,

Thank you for sharing the details.

What we see :

586444-001 is NC550SFP dual-port 10GbE server adapter and the other Adapter should be HP NC375i Adapter (most probable)

As you are aware that the Supported operating System starts from Windows 2003 and the Drivers available would be for  Windows 2003, 2008 and so on.

Specs for NC550 Adapter : https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c02036006

The drivers for Desktop operating system wouldnt be available directly. However you can try downloading the Drivers of the Windows 2003 / 2008 and give a try to run once and check if there are any issues. However there are no confirmation that the Driver would work for sure.

You can check the Revision History and "Release notes" for supported Adapters and Operating System.

Suggestion would be to install any othe Supported Operating System and then install the desired application / OS as VM.

> Also you may go to the link : https://techlibrary.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/supportmatrix/windows_archived.aspx and select the options : DL and Previous Servers, which gives the list of Operating Systems wrt the Server models.

Thank you
