Losing system setting when changing to external battery.

When I change the CMOS battery from an internal to an external 4.5 volt battery, the system loses its date and time. I will set them but after I turn it off over night or longer it stays at the time and date that I set it.

What model of server is this?

There is likely a jumper near the battery posts that needs to be set to enable an external battery.

It is a Compaq Proliant 800. I have switched the jumper according to Compaq's instructions.
