ML 110 SCSI RAID URGENT PLEASE PLEASE
One of my Clients has the following server :
ML110 G2
ML110 SCSI Raid Controller P/N 355671-B21
4 x 36.4Gb Ultra 320 SCSI Hard drives 15K RPM
The server is configured in RAID 5
In device manager we see the raid card as :
Adaptec Scsi Raid 2120s.
The server works fine.
However, there is no way of checking/managing the raid systems withing windows, there is no way of seeing if a drive is dead or alive, you can even see the lights on the front of the server.
I have checked the HP site to see if there is any sought of managemnt s/w and there is not, however there is for the SATA version.
Surly there is some sort of windows s/w available to see whats going on with the array.
How about downloaing and installing the Adaptec Storage s/w from the Adaptec site? would this blow my server ?
Some please help, my client is not to impressed ?
Thanks

It looks like this guy had similar problem:

I don't think you should be afraid of installing Adpatec software - they are serious folks.
Rgds.

This is the link for 2120s Chipset on the adapter:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23531.html
Install tyhis, Ctrl + A during POST takes you to Adaptec Raid Configuration Utility where the RAID can be configured.

Re: ML 110 SCSI RAID URGENT PLEASE PLEASE
At the BIOS prompt, press Ctrl+A
From the ARC menu, select Array Configuration Utility.
From the ACU menu, select Manage Arrays
This S/W does work within windows also.

Re: ML 110 SCSI RAID URGENT PLEASE PLEASE
Thanks for this information.
I've been trying to find out how to manage the array in windows for ages. I know the BIOS level version but this is pritty useless as i cant ask the end user to access this. The windows version will make out life a whole lot easier.
Thanks again.
I'll get it installed this afternoon.
