Hello Liroy

Hope you have full backup of your server.

Logical drive will Disable due to different reason, most common are when you replace a faulty harddisk, or problem with backplane board. check weather you have any faulty harddisk, if not press F2 to continue, it will enable the logical drive.

Check:
HP ProLiant Servers Troubleshooting Guide
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00300504/c00300504.pdf

Check IML to see if you have the message:
1799: Drive Array Drive(s) Disable due to Array Accelerator Data Loss

Did the server power off unexpectingly and stayed off for many hours?

Re: ML 350 G3 "Logical drives disabled due to possible data loss"

Dear Liroy

Don't be panic, As per message:
Logical drive(s) disabled due to possible data loss.
Select "F1" to continue with logical drive(s) disabled
Select "F2" to accept data loss and to re-enable logical drive(s)
RESUME = "F1" OR "F2" KEY

The Smart Array Controller's cache memory's data seems to be lost.
Generally that should not mean any critical data loss, except the last instruction/data which was written to the HDD.

So selecting "F2" is a practically safe option.
You can also check the status of the Array, by entring the BIOS of the Smart Array Controller, by pressing F8 at the time of Smart Array Controller detection.

From there u can confirm any hdd is failed or not.
If ur dosn't boot then u can refer to the troubleshooting guide shared by vcespon or u can follow the below steps:
1.Start the server using Smart Start CD
2.Select Manage server to find option of ACU & ADU
3.Check the RAID status in Array Configuration Utility (ACU)
4.In ACU check the status & also take snapshots in logical view, physical view & more information
5.Check & Save the Array Diagnostics Utility (ADU) report

You will found the detailed error log in ADU from where the nature of h/w failure can be ascertained

Hoping that your system would work fine just after selecting "F2"

Re: ML 350 G3 "Logical drives disabled due to possible data loss"

thanks a lot for the reply guys.
actually.i already press the F2 key, during boot up,the server run check disk automatically and it deleting a lot files and recovering it back.
when i check the files (document) some of them seems like corrupted.
the server also shut down itself unexpectedly, what i suspect is the 1 of the hdd faulty,is it the possibility is high?
im waiting for the part atm.
i will try what u guys suggest 1st.
thanks.

Re: ML 350 G3 "Logical drives disabled due to possible data loss"

Dear liroy,

If you have seen lot of acitivity in chkdsk then that should solve any logical bad partitioning problem
Your server must be having a Smart Array Controller with smart HDD which maintains the activity logs.
Therefore any HDD failure should be easily diagnosed & predicted by controller itself by glowing HDD error Led in amber color or
By user through checking the Online Insight Diagnostics, ACU & ADU (Available by logging into the system management homepage)

So don't just suspect, confirm the status of the HDD by checking the logs

Re: ML 350 G3 "Logical drives disabled due to possible data loss"

Hi liroy,

I face same problem for my Acer 22000. and found the solution in SCSI Cable.
I replace the scsi cable, and everything gets smooth.

Re: ML 350 G3 "Logical drives disabled due to possible data loss"

We have the same problem, however we have 4 SCSI 72.8gb and 2 36.4gb drives.

One of the 72.8gb hard drives has failed. Is there anything we can do to get our server back up and running until our hard drive replacement arrives?

On reboot, F1 to continue or F2 to rebuild logical drive, but at the cost of some data loss. We have not gone further past this point as we do not want to lose anything or try to rebuild under faulty hardware.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
