ML 370 G2 Raid Problem
Hello to all.
I have a client with a ML 370 G2 with 5 18GB SCSI Discs
The 3 first discs are confgured as rais5 and the 4th and 5th are configured as raid 1+0
The disc 3 failed and i ordered a new one, i have pluged the disc in and it ok, but in the raid configuration o now have 1 unmanaged disk and the faulty raid5 is still in error mode saing the one of the disks is missing or failed.
I can add it as a spare to the raid 1+0 but canot add it as a spare to the raid5 that is giving the erro.
How can i add that drive to the array and remove the one that is faulty?
Regards
Ruben Alves

Re: ML 370 G2 Raid Problem
The server has 6 disk slots, from your original post it sounds like you put the replacement disk in the open slot 6. Doing this would allow you to add it as a spare to one of the existing arrays. If you put the new disk in the same slot as the defective disk, it should start rebuilding the array and you wouldn't get the option to add it as a spare

In your original post, you said disk 3 was the failed disk

If disk 3 was the failed disk, and you pulled disk 2, the array will be corrupted and you will more than likely have to restore from backup.

Re: ML 370 G2 Raid Problem
what you can try is booting the system from the smartstart and use the offline acu
then try to add your disk as spare to the raid 5 set
