ML 370-----about raid

i have six hard disc for example:
2*36GB scsi ----raid1
4*73GB scsi ----raid5
can it be done?
how and where can i set in the ML370 server?

Hi,

Yes it can be done. You need a raid controller installed e.g a smart array 4200.

Once you have installed this connect only your drive cage to the controller. If you have any other devices on the SCSI bus then these will need to be connected on a different cable to the onboard conections.

Run smart start to configure your server, this will allow you to set up the controller and will also set the boot order of your server to the raid controller.

During the controller set up you can set up two arrays. Array A with the 2*36gd and Array B with the 4*73gb. If you have any data on these disks it will be lost so you should do a back up before configurating the hardware.
