I recently added 6 bay drive cage (cage b) to the server for additional storage. The server is already up and running using the drives in Cage A. What do I need to do to add the Drives that will be added to Cage B to create a new partition? Do I need to run the Smart Start? I am trying to avoid rebuilding the server. Thanks!!

Depending on the O/S, you can simply run the Array config Utility and configure your drives as necessary assuming you are using a Smart Array controller.
If you reply back with your O/S I'll get you a link.

it is using an array controller the compaq 5300.
I have already connected the scsi cable up to the controller and to the back plane of the hard drive cage. I think I will have to use an older version of smart start since I believe it is a G1 server.

SolutionThe ACU is dependent on the O/S so you will be able to configure it.
