ML 530 G1 power supply failure

Hello,

I recently had a short occur on an old ML530 first generation. Got a message at boot saying a power failure on bay 1 of power supply. I ordered a new power supply using the part number of the broken one. When I install the new power supply I keep getting the error message. Any advice?

update: System ROM, System Driver, IM Agents - restart box
reseat backplane for PSU or cables

additional check: power chord, psu led, external health led .. if status is well, clear/repair IML Entries

Thanks for the info guys, I think that upgrading ROM might do the trick since the new PS is rev.2 and the old one was rev. 1

But unfortunatly I can'T upgrade since it won't let me past those error codes.

what happened if you move to next bay ?

If I move to another bay it says incompatible power supply in bay #.

It's like the system can'T see the new power supply as a correct one.

An HP tech is on the way, hopefully he'll figure this out. I'll post the solution if there is one.

Hi Eric, make sure you used the following power supply SPS number 157793-001 if you are getting the same error after updating the BIOS, what you need to do and what the HPs tech is going to do is to replace the Power Supply Backplane Board 159314-001.

Well like I said I can'T update the BIOS since I can't get past those error message, the tech took a look on friday and think the new power supply was DOA, he also ordered a new backplane just in case.
