ML110 G4 kernel update on RAID SLES10

I succesfully installed SLES10 on ML110 G4 with HP embedded SATA RAID on 2x400 GB disks in mirror (F5 and RAID driver on diskette in installation procedure as documented).

Everything works fine with SLES10 default kernel (kernel-smp-2.6.16.21-0.8) until I try to upgrade kernel on latest version (rpm -Uvh kernel-smp-2.6.16.27-0.9.i586.rpm), after update disks (/dev/sda1) are not visible and OS cannot boot.

If kernel upgrade procedure deleted inserted RAID module from configuration, where can I put it back in after update?

Closing topic, problem solved. File modules.dep for new kernel did not have adpahci dependencies in it, as soon as I put it in and made mkinitrd everything worked fine.

put adpahci dependencies in modules.dep for new kernel manually

Re: ML110 G4 kernel update on RAID SLES10

Hi Ivica,

Can you explain to me how to enable RAID in SLES10 correctly.
I`ve tried it for a month, asked HP and I haven´t found the right way.

Can you help me?

Many thanks
