Re: ML110 G5 CPU E2160: fan permanently full speed
I think that the CPU isn't correctly recognized by bios... :(

Re: ML110 G5 CPU E2160: fan permanently full speed
Did you manage to get any of the drivers on?
What OS are you running?
Why would the CPU not be recognized properly? Do you see any hints of that besides the fan not spinning down?

Hi,
I'm running Windows Server 2003 Standard.
I think the problem is the Bios.
In Bios setup - IPMI - Realtime sensor data the parameter of CPU Temp is:
CPU0 diode: N/A
CPU0 dmn 0temp: 30 degrees C
CPU0 dmn 1temp: N/A
CPU0 Prochot: Limit Not Exceeded
CPU0 VRD Hot: Limit Not Exceeded

Re: ML110 G5 CPU E2160: fan permanently full speed
Only thing you can do about the bios is to clear cmos, do changes in the setup or upgrade/ downgrade. Or have we missed something?
Does that ipmi look different elsewhere?

Hi,
how i can clear cmos?
There's a jumper or only with bios setup options?
I tried all the other things (upgrade/downgrade bios firmware and changes setups)... :(
At this point I think is the motherboard.
In the afternoon I contact HP Support and/or the vendor to require the server replacement.
Thanx to all!

Re: ML110 G5 CPU E2160: fan permanently full speed
I recently contacted HP Support.
They have suggested me to install the following updates:
1. cp014221.exe: BIOS - System ROM Version: 2010.10.25 (13 Dec 2010)
2. SP49103.exe: Firmware Upgrade for HP ProLiant ML110 G5 Lights-Out 100 Remote Management (For USB Key-Media)
...the same procedure that yesterday you had shown me.
Today it worked!
Sorry but I did some wrong step :(
Thanx thanx thanx,
Pasq

Re: ML110 G5 CPU E2160: fan permanently full speed
The ILO isn't present!
The version of ILO's firmware was 3.05 and now, after update, is 3.20B
Maybe the bios includes part of the ILO's firmware... Boh
Thanx to All!
