Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

But I have a machine who work perfectly with a E3110 CPU. With same BIOS and nothing different. But I don't want to try to put this CPU on an other machine.... because ONE is working ;-).
BIOS or CPU ?

Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

This post is only to update my status: I'm still waiting for cpu and fan... from 09-dec... today is 12-dec and my mailbox is still empty!!!!
After 4 calls (to 4 different numbers), they say that there is some quality problems on delivery procedure. Quality problem? What does it mean? Ahhhhh maybe they are using a brand new ML 110 as server in the same room as the workstation, and users are sleeping for the low noise....
I think that the next server will not be an HP.

Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

New CPU arrived Today - 12 Dec. Installed and WOW - silent fans :) - Its taken since 27 November to get this sorted! CPU is X3330 2.66 G/1333 95W
sent photos of BIOS screens to support center.
Very similar readings to above posts - with 3.0Ghz CPU
CPU Dmn 0 reads 43deg
CPU Dmn 1 N/A
fans around 3500-4000RPM

2.66 CPU
CPU Dmn 0 25deg
CPU Dmn 1 26deg
fans around 1500RPM and SILENT

Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

yes,
X3230 is a "Kentsfield" 65nm cpu.

Nobody with X3110 "Wolfdale" 45 nm CPU
AND
CPU Dmn 0 25deg
CPU Dmn 1 26deg <---- NOT N/A !!!
fans around 1500RPM and SILENT ???????

Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

Got the very same Problem here.. A few friends and I bought the ML110 G5 (from ALSO AG, Switzerland) and the system fan is spinning at its maximum. I tried applying older BIOS versions, but as stated above the 0715 one is the only one which "supports" the E3110 processor. I guess Im gonna open a support case, too. Hopefully I wont have to go through the whole process of trying and swapping things until I get a new CPU...

Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

Just called HP. The problem is known by now and they'll release a new BIOS in January (approximately) which should fix the problem. However, I wonder whether it's a BIOS or CPU issue. I hope they aren't implementing a work-around into the BIOS for a defect CPU..

Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

Same problem with the ML110 G5 Xeon 3.0Ghz.
Running with Win XP Pro. Tried every update and system tool, with no effect! Sent a mail to HP Support. I'm also from Switzerland. I hope there will be a solution soon!

Re: ML110 G5 System Fan LOUD

Today I've recieved the new CPU and FAN (after 8 days...).
I've changed both and the problem was solved. Before the CPU was about 46├В┬░c, now is 39├В┬░C.
System fan is running on 2940 RPM, and CPU fan is running on 2645 RPM.
If you have this problem and the support desk suggest you only to change the FAN, simply say that you want to change also the CPU... I think that the problem is on the CPU and not on the FAN.
46├В┬░C CPU Serial: Q824A335
39├В┬░C CPU Serial: Q811A388

I hope this will help.
