I received the same server today (470064-918) and was surprised that I ordered a server AND a hair dryer in ONE case!! The thing is as loud as an 8 core 1HE server on heavy load. And yes, I am from Switzerland as many others in this thread. Hope HP will fix this soon.

Hello Folks,

The HP complain center called us back on Friday. Since the DOA exchange wasn't successul (1 of 2 new server -Also- has the same problem), the emloyee accepted to exchange the 3.0GHz Dual Core with a 2.66GHz Quad Core. We should receive it on tuesday.

I'll keep inform the thread after the exchange.

Just got my 2.66GHz Quad-Core and replaced the 3.0GHz with it. It's purring like a cat now! Waiting on the other three CPU replacements now.. I'd suggest you guys get the replacement (or free upgrade :P), too. Better than waiting for a new BIOS release which takens another month.

I receive a new CPU X3110 today,replaced it and..... Silent!

CPU0 Dmn 0 Temp from 31 to 37 (just in BIOS) and Fans less than 1500rpm.

I think we can say now that the problem is with the CPU (??)

Nice one:
Received a server at the end of November. Same problem... Fan noisy. Tried to flash bios but didn't work.

1st intervention: Motherboard changed. no sucess
2nd intervention: CPU changed, sucess but the CPU was a 2.6 dual core instead or the 3,0 GHz..
3rd intervention: CPU changed to 3,0 GHz... Fan noisy....
4 intervention: DOA, replacement of the server
Not successfull, still the same fan problem

5 intervention, actually waiting on the phone with HP after sale service...

Same Problem on a ML110 recived end of December 2008
