Looks like this ML110 G5 fan issue is mainly a Swiss-Norwegian problem - incidentally I am a Swiss living in Norway :)

Just wanted to conform that the fan is behaving normally after flashing the BIOS and upgrading the RILOE firmware.

Thanks to everybody that helped id'ing and solving this - quoting Franklin: "As we enjoy great advantages from inventions of others, we should be glad of an opportunity to serve others by any invention of ours; and this we should do freely and generously."
