I've just bought new ML110, and although I have some experience in building PCs from components, this is my first HP server, an I am confused about where to start.
I want to setup 2 disk RAID1 and install Win 2003 Server.
With the server came an "Easy Setup CD" and a small A5 sheet with instructions for "Installing the Embedded SATA RAID driver with a USB diskette".
Please could someone tell me:
Do I run the "Easy Setup CD" as well as following the instructions on the sheet, or instead of?
I read somewhere that the EasySetup CD does NOT support the SATA RAID.
Also I've never setup a RAID system before so, please go easy with me.
Many thanks in advance,
Richard

SolutionTake a look at the embedded SATA RAAID user guide at http://bizsupport.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00771065/c00771065.pdf
Then you can use an external disk to supply the driver to the OS while the OS installation is running. User guide page 55

Re: ML110 G5 - Where to start
How will I know if a fault occurs on the one of the disks?
There are two downloads under "Software - Storage Controller" at:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3577715&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=3577708&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1005#78214
I have installed the manager, but when I try to install the "Event notification Service" it says:
"The software will not be installed on this system because the required hardware is not present in the system or the software/firmware doesn't apply to this system."
What would you recommend?
