ML110 G7 - Can it use ZFS?
Hi,
I've been reading about the B110i RAID controller in the ML110 G7.
Is it possible to turn off the RAID and just use the disks as JBOD?
Has anyone successfully installed Solaris (or variant like OpenIndiana) on the ML110 G7 using ZFS?
Thanks!

Re: ML110 G7 - Can it use ZFS?
Hi
Yes you can disable the Raid by changing the Controller mode to Sata in System Bios
Refer HP Guided Troubleshooting for more information
Launch HP Guided Troubleshooting >> Select ML110 G7 >> go to diagnosis/troubleshooting >> select Integrated Sata raid controller
or user guide

Re: ML110 G7 - Can it use ZFS?
Thanks for you reply, Aftab.
I purchased one of these ML110 G7 servers.
I installed a zpool (4 x 2TB hard drives from another machine) and imported the zpool while booting from a Live CD of OpenIndiana 151a5. Everything with the zpool worked ok.
Unfortunately, I am having a heck of a time actually installing OpenIndiana onto any hard drive on this machine ...but that's a different topic and it will be addressed in its own thread. :)
Anyway, here are the steps I took to disable the RAID controller:
Boot ->
F9 ->
Advanced Options ->
SATA Controller Options ->
Embedded SATA Configuration ->
Enable SATA AHCI Support
