ML110 Raid driving me insane
I've been trying to install an OS on an ML110 G3 server. I've made a floppy disc containing the Adaptec Hostraid driver but each time I try to install windows it either fails completely and doesn't see any harddrives or installs windows on only 1 of the 2 drives in a raid 1 array leaving the other blank!
I've tried an nlite disc but it fails as well.
Just now I've installed windows again, only to find it installed on a single drive and no mention of the Adaptec Embedded sata raid and only has a 'standard dual channel ide' but I can't change the driver. The bios has the raid enabled, the raid is built and working but I just can get windows to see the array.
I'm getting close to the point where the server will be flying across the office into a bin. Does anyone have any clue as to why this machine will not use the raid volume.

Re: ML110 Raid driving me insane
Hi Stephen,
Follow this sequence and check if this helps.
1. Enable the RAID in the BIOS.
>Press the F10 key to launch BIOS Setup Utility (American Megatrends, Inc).
>In the Advanced menu screen, select IDE Configuration.
>Set ATA/IDE Configuration to "Enhanced".
>Set Configure SATA to "RAID".
>Press Esc, F10, and then select "YES" to save the changes and close the BIOS Setup Utility.
Note: Ensure the ProLiant ML110 G3 server is running the latest version of System ROM, available for download at the following URL:
Systems ROMPaq Firmware Upgrade Diskette for HP ProLiant ML110 G3 Servers
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/25229.html
2. Restart the server <<< Press F8 for HP Embedded SATA Setup! >> to configure the array.
3. Configure Raid 1(Delete old array if existing)
4. Boot from OS CD, Press F6 to specify additional Drivers. Continue installing.
>Latest Raid Driver:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23534.html
5. Once the OS is installed. Download and install the HP SATA RAID Controller Manager for Windows. And ensure that the Raid 1 is intact and healthy.
>HP SATA RAID Controller Manager for Windows:

Check if this helps you to rebuild the server properly.
Regards,
Raj.

Re: ML110 Raid driving me insane
Did all of what you suggested already, it didn't work.
I think I've found the solution though, before I was only loading the adaptec hostraid driver, I've just tried also loading the intel ich7r ahci driver prior to the hostraid and it's now correctly showing the array instead of the individual drives and installing windows.
