ML110 - Smart Array for a second RAID1

Hello, we would like to get a ProLiant ML110 G7.
Which controller would you recommend to build twice a RAID1? Two drives for WinOS and two drives for data.

There are preconfigured systems that come either with a smart array B110i controller or a smart array P212.

Do both support a second RAID1?

Thanks for your help.

I would prefer you get a p212 controller both of these support raid 1, the difference being b110i works on OS level the load is more on the OS for raid to work , another draw back on b110i is it supports only SATA Drives where as p212 supports both SATA/SAS .
I recommend P212

Thanks for your recommendation.

P212 says (RAID 0/1/1+0/5/5+0). Does it mean that if you build a RAID1 it is only possible to create RAID0

for a second drive? Or is it possible to build more than one RAID1 with one controller?

You can create multiple raids on the controller , you can have as many Raid 1's as you would want on the controller
