I am trying to install my new ML110 G5 with Windows Server 2008 x64.
My ML110 is equiped with 2*250 Gb harddisk in a mirror. I configured this in the Adaptec bios.
When the setup of Windows 2008 launches, Windows of course doesn't find any harddisks. I've downloaded the correct driver for Windows 2008 x64, but when I try to load this diver in the 'load driver' option in the Windows 2008 installation module, the installation module tells me:
'To continue installation, use the Load Driver option to install 32-but and unsigned 64-bit drivers. Installing an unsigned 64-bit driver is not supported and might result in an unstable Windows installation.'
So, I tried to reboot my server and pressed the F8 button during the boot sequence, and selected the option over there to be able to load unsigned drivers. However, still no solution: Windows 2008 doesn't want me to load the driver.
Any ideas what I could do??
Cheers,
Bas

SolutionWas this the driver you used?
ftp://ftp3.hp.com/ftp1/pub/softlib2/software1/sc-windows/p1431394271/v45437/
Embedded Sata Driver for Windows Server 2008 X64.
Extract the files to a diskette (floppy) and provide during the installation after pressing F6. The driver version is 1.4.17015.0

Brian

Re: ML110G5 / Windows Server 2008 x64
Thank you for your quick reply.
Actually, I'm using those drivers.
May be it has something to do that I am using a different Windows Server 2008 installation. I have the MAPS (Microsoft Action Pack) version, which launches a Windows-based installation of Windows Server 2008. In other words: I cannot press F6 to install another driver, like during the installation of Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP.
I hope there is another method, otherwise I would better await the next release of MAPS.
Regards,
Bas

Re: ML110G5 / Windows Server 2008 x64
for W2008 there is not F6 any more W2008 will you the option to load drivers using a USB Key(thanks God!!!)
you know I've seen that issue once, I tried to replicate and I did not have the issue it's weird (because at this point I don't why that person had it and I did not)
but I think you got that message and you can continue right?
try this install latest System Rom and try again

Re: ML110G5 / Windows Server 2008 x64
I managed to do load the driver..
What I've done:
* I downloaded the latest ISO of Windows Server 2008 from Microsoft's website (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/trial-software.aspx)
* I burned this ISO on a DVD
* Running this ISO, loading the latest driver... Voil├Г ! There is my harddisk!
It seems that the MAPS edition of Windows Server 2008 has some problems with handling other drivers.
Thank you for all your suggestions!
Cheers,
Bas

Re: ML110G5 / Windows Server 2008 x64
i tried the same with the german MAPS Edition and got the same problem with installing the 64-Bit driver. I think, this special DVD boots a 32-Bit environment, 'cause there are both versions available to install, but no question at boot-time. So i decided to download the iso-file for the german x64 edition. Will tell result later. ;-))
Cheers
