ML110G5 won't boot. Powers down.

I have a ML110G5 that will not boot to the CD or HDD 95% of the time. It just shows the startup screen and shuts down.
Most of the time it can be booted from a USB floppy. I have flashed to the latest ROM version. I have changed allmost everything apart from the mobo. When it does boot it runs server 2003 OK. However the case fan seems to run at full speed. I suspect the motherboard.
Any help appreciated.

which parts have you replaced?

have you clear CMOS?

I have replaced the CPU, DVD, HDD, SATA cables, Heatsink/fan. I don't have a spare PSU but it shows voltages OK in the BIOS.

The fact it runs OK once its booted would suggest the power is OK. Any ideas?

which screen windows screen or Proliant POST screen?

when this happens don't you see any LED in System Board ?

also is there any attached device?

again did you clear CMOS?

It shows the HP boot screen then just shuts down. I have cleared the BIOS and even removed the battery for a while. The motherboard has green lights on and the heartbeat light flashes. There is only the DVD and HDD connected. No additional components added.

All sorted now. HP sent me a new mainboard.
