ML115 G5 RAID / K4 ADF
I am thinking of buying two:
WD 2TB 3.5" SATA-III 6Gb/s Caviar Black Hard Drive 7200RPM 64MB Cache
And creating a RAID setup on my HP ML115 G5 using the onboard hardware RAID Controller.
(The setup will be 2TB mirrored onto the second 2TB drive so basically 2TB overall but with the peace of mind that if a single drive dies I have a full set of data to recover with.)
My questions are:
1) Can anyone tell me if I will have any problems using these disks in this server as they are SATA-III (does SATA-III have any particular prerequisites?)
2) Will the SATA-III disks be ok for use on the onboard RAID Controller?
3) Will the fact that the disks use 4K Advanced Format be a problem with the RAID Controller?
(I will be using Ubuntu Server which I know the latest kernel supports 4K AFD's)
