Hello I am trying to start a BRAND NEW ML115G5 server but the led on the main board is always flashing (HEART BEAT LED)next to the CMOS SW2 button. Although the system starts (FANS ARE WORKING AT FULL POWER)and no post messages appear on screen.This server was restarted after a windows 2003 setup.Although I reset the cmos by pressing the sw2 button with no power on the supply, the problem was still there. The other thing is that the server wont start at all if a connect a typical MODEM on the white PCI. Please advise Regards

Since it's clearly under warantee I would exercise that, sounds like system board is u/s.

hi,

try ru ibgrade bios/firmware to the latest version. If you have some support contract with HP,them you could open a HW call.

It's normal that the heart beat LED is flashing.

If the system is unable to show POST messages than most likely your motherboard is broken. The fans not lowering their speed only confirms that diagnosis.

Contact HP and have the server repaired.
