ML115 Max SATA Drive Size

I know the Quickspecs state that the maximum drive size is 4x500GB but has anybody tried a larger drive (such as 750GB or 1TB)?

Just wanted to know if there is a BIOS/Controller limitation?

With Hard Drives being so cheap I just wanted to cram as much storage into the server as possible.

On a slightly different note - in order to add 4 drives Quickspecs states it is a custom order from HP. Is there anything special which needs to be done in order to support the 4 drives?

Thanks in advance

Re: ML115 Max SATA Drive Size

Well if the server you have is the g1 then the limitation her is the controllers that the server supports. They are low end controllers hence storage capacity are not as good as midle high end controllers.

Not actually you just need to have the proper cabling configuration.
