Re: ML150 G2 + Lights-Out 100
Try this options which has been tested by one of my collegues here:
Applicable to Proliant 100 series for Light-out 100.
1) Create a DOS bootable disk (floppy or USB key)
2) Download the IPMItool from this link: http://www.intel.com/design/servers/ipmi/ipmi_tool.htm
3) Copy the IPMItool.exe to the bootable disk
4) Boot the server using the bootable disk
5) Run "ipmitool.exe 20 18 47 03 02 61 64 6d 69 6e 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00"
6) Now your password should reset back to "admin"
Note: This tool doesn't reset your default username. You need to use/remember the new username that you changed it to.
He also recommends to use IE6 since there were issues with IE7 regarding the login.
Hope it works!!!!

rmn

Re: ML150 G2 + Lights-Out 100
I've downloaded the file and followed your instructions, but it seems doesn't work.
I'm not quite sure that the user name wasn't changed. There is no other way to recover the previus state or to restore de factory defaults?

Re: ML150 G2 + Lights-Out 100
Not sure whether this might work, but you could try to upgrade the Lights-Out 100i Remote Management firmware from here:
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24305.html
Possibly we may have to reset the CMOS using the jumper J29 but note that all the configuration settings will be erased and all system operations would halt by doing so.
This jumper settings is to clear system configuration settings.

Re: ML150 G2 + Lights-Out 100
The firmware in up-to-date (1.23).
I think that the reset CMOS jumper on MB cannot reset the LO 100 security settings.
On the LO 100 daughterboard there is an array of four dip-switches (the default configuration is off-on-on-off).
I think that, as for the ILO on Proliant 3xx, there is a switch combination equivalent to "un-secured mode" that ignore the stored credential.
But the ILO has an array of six dip-switches...

Re: ML150 G2 + Lights-Out 100
please try the following:
downgrade to the Initial Releae Version:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/25504.html
than upgrade to the latest version
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/25766.html
This should reset the ilo! Please keep me informed. Thx.
Cheers

Re: ML150 G2 + Lights-Out 100
excuse me for the delay, but I cannot try your solution: the server is now in another place.
I'll try your suggestion next time i'll go for on-site maintenance.
Thank you
