ML150 G2 SATA & Win2003 x64
Hi,
Can I run Windows 2003 Std x64 edition on a ML150 G2 SATA server? The HP web site seems to be self-contradictory on the matter.
Many thanks,
Bevan

Re: ML150 G2 SATA & Win2003 x64
Bevan:
There is a trial version available for Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition (64-bit).
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/evaluation/trial/default.mspx
You can download and try it for 180 days.
This may be enough to tell you whether the kernal will load or the OS will stay stable. I know you are looking for the std version but I would think both std and enterprise x64 versions share the same kernal and are similar enough in other ways to gauge compatibility.
Good luck.
Rob

Re: ML150 G2 SATA & Win2003 x64
I should have clarified. I already have the software and I'm looking to buy an inexpensive server to run it on. The ML150 looks good for my purposes - IF it will run x64.
(I just need a low-end Xeon 64 server to test 64-bit builds of our software).
