ML150 G2 SCSI server

A client has a ML150 G2 SCSI hotswap server, and wants to know if we can install 300gb hard drives, given that the correct hotswap tray is used. My guess would be no, does anyone know for sure on this?

If you have SCSI hot pluggable drives, can you verify controller model?

Yes, the pci slot has an adaptec 2120S raid adapter. It has a scsi cable going to the backplane which has the following part numbers:

373277-001, 370890-001

2120s should see 300GB HDD, however if HDD is made not by HP and you willing to install in Hot Plug Universal tray - no guaranteed that it will work correctly especially for monitoring and performance.

There are 300GB Hot Plug Drives available from HP currently, if you are worried about this -guarrantee- spoken of previously. Though they are not listed as compatible, this is only because they were not available at the time the system was released.

Thanks e4, this 300gb drives are working flawlessly for them. We ended up finding them slightly cheaper here:

It arrived in the more standard hotswap tray that would fit the DL380 machines, but they quickly sent the trays to fit our machines.
