ML150 G3 SATA drivers?

Hello,
can anyone tell me what is the exact model of embedded SATA controller in this server?
Is it supported in linux on stock 2.6 kernels or only option is to use HP's binary modules for redhat kernels?
Also output of "lspci" would be very helpful.

Many thanks

Re: ML150 G3 SATA drivers?

Hi Marek,

I'm using FC5, (kernel 2.6.17-1.2187_FC5) and it *just worked*. Admittedly haven't tried using the RAID part of the controller, but as a standalone controller, was fine. As I don't install any X components (this'll be a head-node for a backup system) I haven't bothered with any of the extra drivers HP provide as of yet. (Although may upgrade the NIC driver in due course).

Is an Intel controller. I had to enable AHCI to allow it to see all 6 drives I have plugged in. Until I can get my Adaptec 2820SA card working on it (require RAID5/6/hot-spare) I'll be using the mdadm linux RAID tools. My lspci output is below.

HTH

Re: ML150 G3 SATA drivers?

It is an Adaptec for sure. I saw it from the driver when I installed the driver when installing the Windows 2003 using the RAID.
I couldn't see the model of the Adaptec. But you could download the embedded driver and look in the inf file which might contain some information on the model. Cheers.
