ML150 G6 SATA Configuration

I have a new ML150 G6 and in the bios for the SATA drives (using the built in controller) it is set to COMPATIBLE and not ENHANCED. This computer came with a 250GIG Baracuda but I am replacing it with 4, 750 GIG WD RE3 drives. These will be installed as 2 sets of Raid 1.

My question is should I change the BIOS to Enhanced and also should the setting Drive Write Cache remain disabled.

Re: ML150 G6 SATA Configuration

Hi EarlK,

Ensure that the SATA Controller 1 is in Compatiable mode and SATA Controller 2 is in Enhanced. Also leave the Drive Write Cache Disabled.

Use the Easy Setup CD to configure raid and install windows OS:

This CD contains video, storage, chipset, and networking drivers and user documentation.

The entry level model of this server has HP Smart Array B110i SATA RAID Controller. Use Array Configuration Utility(ACU) to configure raid.
