ML150 locks up on reboot

Whenever I reboot the ML350, the server freezes/locks up and does not reboot.
Here are the troubleshooting steps I took:

a. This happened Prior to installation of operating system and I:
removed everything except minimal memory and hardware.
reset the bios to default.

b. I called HP support and was told that once I install the operating system it will be fine.
- the problem is still happening. I have installed Windows 2003 64bit.

c. I called back. Now they are telling me to upgrade to the latest bios.

The only way I can restart the server on reboot is to unplug the power cord and press the start button.

The exact server model is ML150 G3. Not ML350.

can you explain the exact configuration you are using?
Memories, processors, controller and VGA ?
BIOS release?

Why is the configuration important when I took everything out and it still locked up on reboot.
Any way, to answer your question: I have 2 gig of memory, 1 - 347786-b21
HP 8 INT PORT 64/133 PCI-X SAS HBA ALL. Per HP support, I disabled the SAS support on the bios as all my HD are on the smart array card above. I have 4 drives. 1 & 2 = raid 1 for operating system and I think 5&6 for rate 1 for my data.

I've ased because I've had many of this problem using ML150 G3 servers.
especially regarding BIOS release and CPU models.
using the newest E53xx intel processors.

only for this reason.

have you received yur server in this configuration?

I am not sure of the intel chip. I have an HP tech coming shortly.

Eitherway, I removed all cards and it came up. It still comes up only Intermittently.

I upgraded the bios = success.
I upgraded the smart array card = success = sort of. It took the new rom revision but now it does not boot up at all. that means when it decides to come up.

I see all the lights on the drives green.
it reeds my drive configuration but fails to read the drives.

HP came. Replaced power supply. It seems fine now. Will keep you posted.
