ML150G2 tape drive with adaptec 39160 ultra 160 scsi card
We have an HP Proliant ML 150 G2 server. We recently purchased an
external Tandberg lto drive Model # Half Height LTO 1 (LTO 220).
We installed a scsi card from adapted having # 39160 ultra 160 to
connect this to the tandberg drive. this drive gets recongised by
default and continues to work fine, however after a few days the
drive stops getting recognised (though the scsi card is still recognized in the hardware section). to solve this problem we have to
attach the drive to another port on the scsi card and restart the
system which solves the probelm for a few days. We have checked
all possible areas like hardware, cables, scsi card etc however
we fail to understand why the drive suddenly stops getting
recognized. WE even went to the extent of replacing the drive
from tandberg singapore but the same problem persists. Your
assistance would be greatly appreciated and is urgently required.
Please do let us know if you need any further information.
Please note the hp server configuration is :
Processor XENON 3ghz, 512 mb ram, 2 scsi hdd are attached and software mirroring is done. each is of 72 gb
apart from this this server a dual processor server and came with an inbuit scsi card : adaptec AIC 7901 ultra 320 scsi.
