It would be the specialitiy of the controller and backplane that would contoller the "hotswap' functionallity. The actual hard drive would probably not be specific, but the carrier would.
My point was that I can not find the part numbers that HP lists for the actual hard drives anywhere. Did you?

No, I just gave my supplier the information you gave me on the drives and they said that is what I am suppose to use. I ordered everything from CDW so when I gave them that information then they just talked to their HP representative and got them shipped out to me.
