ML150G3: High CPU Usage by Hardware Interrupts
Hello,
I have Proliant ML150 G3 server installed with Windows 2003 Enterprise.
For approx a month, my server's performance has gone too down. While investigating about the issues, I found 'Hardware Interrupts' are consuming more CPU power. Its 20 to 50 all day with load or without load.
How can I find which device is causing interrupts?
Thanks in advance.
Dipesh

Re: ML150G3: High CPU Usage by Hardware Interrupts
Hi, hardware interrupts - like IRQ?
So it could be anything extra you have installed in a PCIe slot or basically anything connected to the system board?
Do you have anything connected/installed that is not supported? Done any changes lately?
Have you tried running any diagnostics?
Like memtest86 or HP offline diagnostics -
see this link for the hp off. diags:

Re: ML150G3: High CPU Usage by Hardware Interrupts
Hello,
Thanks for immediate reply.
1. No - I haven't made any hardware changes or connected/disconnected any new hardware to the server.
In fact, the server had been working fine for over a period of 3 years, it has started problem just before a month or so.
2. I am going to download, HP Offline Diag Tool as you suggested. Does it require my server to go down?

2- Yes. Same for the memtest86.
But, there are some other downloads in that link.
Like the ADU - that you can use to check the array (online).
Also, maybe the windows event logs can be of some assistance?
