ML30 GEN 10 SN550 NVME M.2 cannot format

Hi,

I installed an 1TB Western Digital SN550 NVME ssd to the M.2 slot on the motherboard. The system can detect the drive without any problem. The issue happens when I try to format it in the unraid OS, and it gave me the error everytime. I also tried to use other disk partition software to format but also failed.

I moved this nvme drive to another computer and it can be formatted without any problem so I know the drive is good. It seems like ML30 gen10 has some compatibility issue with this NVME ssd drive. The drive can be detected but just won't format. Can anyone point me a direction to fix this issue? Is there any bios setting I should try?

Thanks

Hello,
Good Day

1> Yes it looks like compatibility issue and there are no settings in Bios for the same,

2> As per the quick specs of the server the Maximum M.2 NVMe capacity supported by this server is 480 GB

Please refer page 7 (Maximum Internal Storage)
