ML30 Gen10 P408i-p SSD options

I have a ML30 Gen10 with a P408i-p controller  with cache
there are 4 drives in the system at present  (HPE 2 TB Hard Drive - 2.5" Internal - SATA (SATA/600) - 7200rpm - Hot Swappable)
I wanted add an SSD as a stand alone - something like a
HPE 960GB SATA 6G MU SFF (2.5 in) SC 3-year warranty DS firmware SS 
or a
HPE 1.92TB SATA 6G MU SFF (2.5 in) SC 3-year warranty DS firmware SSD

I need a drive for a fast read write  application.

Any suggested for the best option for that server/controller combination to get the right combination for value ?

my Gen10 with new E208 support mixed mode for hpe controller card

you could set one group port use Raid mode with cache

other group port use HBA mode to connect SSD to your OS.

your P408i I guess same support this mode , you could check the HPSSA managerment software GUI

Yes, thats where I got the original parts list.
The unit presently has SAS hot swapable drives on raid with the optional HPE Smart Array.

I suppose what I am after is advice on the best option for a SSD solution.

Board with SSD to plug into the system board via slots
Sata SSD to plug into the sata controler on the system board
Hot plugable SSD to plug into the HPE Smart Array.
Non-hot plugable SSD to plug into the HPE Smart Array.

The SSD is for a read write intensive program but the data is temporary so it doesnt need raid.
