ML310 G5P Smartstart SATA RAID Controller not supported
I try to install a new server with the Smartstart CD delivered with the system. Version 8.25.
Controller: Intel 82801GRSata Raid controller.
It keeps saying: The primary controller configured in your system is not supported by this version of startsmart.
Is ther a newer version available, if yes, where?
Thanks

Re: ML310 G5P Smartstart SATA RAID Controller not supported
I've had similar issues with two 310 G5Ps as well.
I think it is totally disgusting that HP can even think of shipping servers with a "so called" SmartStart solution that completely fails to perform the job it's meant too.
HP go on about saving resources and not shipping CDs, it would help if the CDs they did ship WORKED!
Their SmartStart for G5Ps SUCKS big time.
In this day and age there is NO EXCUSE for not supporting EVERY SINGLE PIECE of hardware HP choose to use in their servers. If HP can't get a piece of hardware to function with SmartStart THEN DON'T USE THAT HARDWARE AND SACK THE SUPPLIERS for being so damn stupid.
The hardware aside, SmartStart refuses to install even if you create an array, and partition it outside of SmartStart.
100% DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR.
