Re: ML310G5 - when server is reset, ilo2 also resets
We've attached ILO's to Cisco switches, and we've tried to set up speed in 100 Full on both ports but always the same, ILO resets when restarting server.
Also, we had the same idea to put on a hub and it worked fine at this try ...
Hope it's not THE hp solution cause we won t put hub behind our switches ...

Re: ML310G5 - when server is reset, ilo2 also resets
and I would not recommend a hub must be an issue between the cisco switches and ilo firmware
that's only with those ML310 G5? or are there any other like dl380 g5 or any ther server failing with those Cisco using ilo version ?

Re: ML310G5 - when server is reset, ilo2 also resets
This problem has nothing to do with the host OS. I hadn't loaded an OS yet and had the problem. I did finally load windows 2003 the old fashioned way - at the server with the smartstart - and am still having the problem. Till next week...
BTW - something strange also - the http access to the ILO doesn't allow changing the speed/duplex. It's greyed out. I had to hit the f8 during boot to change that...
And 1.61 to 1.7 ILO firmware didn't help me that I could tell.

Re: ML310G5 - when server is reset, ilo2 also resets
We've changed already 2 motherboards with HP and the pb is still here...
Now we'll try to downgrade ILO2 firmware 1.70 (cause it has a lot of bugs in fact...thanks HP for the info) to ILO2 firmware 1.60.
That's our last idea to fix this issue. Now, we're also waiting for HP ingeneers to solve that ILO2 pb. lol
Also, pay attention to ILO2 upgrade or downgrade cause sometimes, it's not working correctly and we completly lose ILO2 in the system BIOS ... So the ML 310 G5 takes up to 30 minutes to boot... And ILO2 doesn t exist anymore ... Need new motherboard (3rd now ... still 40 MLs to prepare ...) Gonna be very long to solve...
